If you’ve read the preview post you could see the high skyscrapers of Belo Horizonte far away in the horizon. It’s also the city I arrived to by bus right after Rio de Janeiro. I arrived early in the morning to the big bus station. My first impression wasn’t so special, reminded me of most bigger cities. Kind of unsafe with homeless people lying here and there on the streets depending which district you are in. That’s the biggest reason I don’t pick up my camera waving it around and you don’t get to see so much from the cities. Also I don’t really feel that it’s very interesting for you to see. Of course I want to show everything I see, but I also want to show you the ”WOW!” pictures, and those aren’t easy to get in a city like Belo Horizonte.
I took this one with my mobile phone while we were waiting for the bus in Belo Horizonte to Gerson’s hometown Raposos. On the other side of the street you can see a pile of garbage that someone had sat on fire. My guess is that someone would’ve called the fire department if it was in Sweden..
But still, it’s hard to escape the fact that there is a lot of poor people living in Brazil, my guess is that this man wasn’t just relaxing in the shade for a minute..Next post, Gerson’s hometown Raposos!
