4 days. Thats how long I’ve been here in Rio now, and I thought it might be time to start writing about it and what I’ve been doing the last few days. As I wrote earlier I arrived on Monday morning after more than 24 hours of traveling. First I thought I would have no trouble with any jetlag since I got a good nights sleep on the last flight (New York – Rio de Janerio). I don’t know if it’s because of the time difference or the fact that I’ve been walking very long the last few days (compared to what I usually do), but anyhow, I’ve passed out before 9 pm most nights, totally dead.
Since Rio de Janeiro is a huuuuge city (more inhabitants than the entire Sweden) & because I simply love taking photos I’ve divided Rio into more than one post. Starting with this little one about the hostel I’m staying at, in the ”Ipanema district” a few hundred meters from the Ipanema beach. All images in this post is taken on the top floor of the hostel, where I spend most of my time when I’m at the hostel. (and when I’m not sleeping)
It’s a really nice place that I can strongly recommend if your visiting Rio and don’t want to spend a fortune on you hotel. It’s a very small place that’s located between some bigger apartments and is reached through a little ally. Hard to find since there is no sign and you have to call the reception through the port phone. After you’ve done that they can open the gate so you can enter the ally. I found it myself through the Lonely Planets guide book.
Tomorrow I’ll see if I have something to show you from the beach!
Take care! /Erik
